update on yesterday's upset:

shamelessly_mkpmy gma came home earlier than I was expecting and after a very long road trip walked into a still messy house, which is something I’ve been struggling with for quite a while and has been very frustrating for her, as it should be, and so she finally couldn’t take it any more and made it clear to me that I need to move out by the end of December.
it was a pretty upsetting conversation but we’re back on an even keel now and I no longer want to shatter myself apart into little pieces.
I needed to move out soon anyway; they want to sell the house and need me out to get it ready to sell. I was hoping to wait until I actually went to hire at this job, but them’s the breaks, kid. you don’t do what needs to get done, you have to expect consequences.
I started looking at apartment listings yesterday and while it is terrifying I am pretty sure it will be a huge plus to my mental health to actually live somewhere that’s mine instead of mooching off my grandparents (my rent barely counts). It’ll seriously suck for the first few months because I’m going to have a hell of a time making ends meet on the temp wage of $12/hour, but I have some savings to cushion me and I know my parents won’t let me starve or actually go homeless.
It’s going to be okay. I just have to remember that. My gma was disappointed and angry, but she still loves me. I fucked up; that doesn’t make me a fuckup.
I may be behind the curve when it comes to actually being a responsible grownup, but the important thing is that I am improving and getting better at it, even if it isn’t really at the rate I ought to be or to the level I should be at.
