I left feedback about it, at least? I mean, maybe my issues with answering the questions were dumb, but I’m betting I’m not the only neuroatypical person taking the survey and other people might have trouble too.
This is the feedback I gave:
I found parts of it kind of inaccessible - I’m neuroatypical and surveys are hard for me, because I want to give accurate answers and find it very frustrating when options don’t fit. It’d be helpful to have more qualified answers and maybe even explanations of what the question is actually asking, as a lot of times autistic folks get tripped up by answering the question they were specifically asked and not the question the asker actually wanted the answer to - a classic example is ‘how would you describe yourself?’ an autistic person might well respond with the words they would use to describe themselves to others (ex ‘nice, cheerful, etc) instead of answering the intended question of ‘how do you see/feel about yourself’.
It also assumed a lot of self-knowledge - I don’t really know how to quantify and romantic or sexual attractions I’ve had, or even really what those terms are meant to describe when it comes to my own experiences.
The sexual experience questions would also benefit from more specific questions like ‘giving x’ ‘receiving x’ or ‘giving and receiving x’ and an additional section with the same options but for ‘interest in’ rather than ‘experience with’ - for example, almost all of the sexual activity I’ve really ever participated in only involved me touching the other person sexually, and right now, that’s the only kind of sexual exploration I feel comfortable with.
One other note: the religion options are rather lacking, most notably in that there isn’t an ‘other - religious’ option as well as an ‘other - nonreligious’ one.
Does it make sense, do you think? Did I adequately explain the problems I had filling out the survey, in a way people will (probably) understand?
